im repowering 02 lund fisherman 1700 .with a 2014 mercury 4 stroke 150 need Ideal on a prop for this boat .I like how 4 blades work .I removed 2002 mercury 125 hp motor that had a 19 pitch prop on it run 36 mph that 5250 rpms. would I go to higher pitch prop with the 150 hp on this boat. was thinking about rev 4 20 pitch or tempest plus 21 pitch or enertia 20 or 21 pitch or do I stay at 19 pitch prop. thank you

    I didn’t have a merc, but I had a 14 1/2 x 22 on a 175. Easily 45+mph @ 5250rpms… and that was a 3 blade raker. I like your plan to go up to a 20 or 21, but try to maintain those rpms.
BTW, that prop of mine is for sale. I upgraded motor to a 200, so went to a four blade, but otherwise same size.

I don’t know about down where you live, but up here in Minnesota, most marine dealers will let you take a test prop and run it and see for yourself which one is best for your boat. The 21 pitch is a good place to start.
