Is lock and dam #3 open for recreation travel?

    I was wondering if there is a way to find out if the lock is opened for recreational traffic right now. A lot of people have been telling me it is only opened for commercial traffic due to high water conditions.

    I haven’t heard that it is closed for rec travelT To be sure the phone # for 3 is 651-388-5794. If you’re nearby and only have a CB they monitor channel 14 also. Then channel 16 is status update channel.

    Locks and Dams operate on a marine radio not cb and yes they are open to all traffic.

    The reports of locks closing were for the three up in the Cities. Hastings and the good ol’ boys at #3 are working hard. Just came through 1/2 hour ago.
