I’m doing some research and looking at them. Anybody have experience towing with one? I’ve got a 17.5 ft full windshield deep-v that weighs roughly 1800-1900 lbs loaded for a trip. I will be making a couple trips to Canada per year and shorter trips around the state.

Son had an Acadia and pulled his 18.5 Ranger Riata with it. Handled this boat very nicely.
March 30, 2013 at 12:28 pm #1157558I use my Traverse for towing my 1775 Pro V and did several trips up to the border with the boat and vehicle loaded with camping gear and it does great. Get about 16 mpg towing and about 23-24 normally on the highway. Good all around vehicle if you want to pull a boat that size and have a lot of minions to haul around as well.
March 30, 2013 at 12:43 pm #1157560Sometimes pulling isn’t the issue. Stopping power is more important. I would suggest trailer brakes when the trailer/boat weight is just about as much as the tow vehicle. Play on the safe side!
March 30, 2013 at 1:26 pm #1157568These vehicles are about 4700 lbs, but it’s still good to have surge brakes on the trailer.
March 30, 2013 at 2:08 pm #1157580We have a Traverse here, have not towed yet, it is set up to have a class 2 or 3 tow which is rated at 3300 I was told. My boat is about half that so I am told it will handle that nicely.
The instruction manual says to lock the trannie down in 5 gear as I recall, it has a 6 speed in it so the book said.
It will be a learning experience for us here for sure.Roger
March 30, 2013 at 3:52 pm #1157595I have a 2012 Acadia Denali. It has been terrific for towing the alumacraft trophy 175/ yam150. No issues at all towing, and brakes are very good too. It is 3.6 V6 with 6spd trans. I always shift manually when towing.
good luck,
JackMarch 30, 2013 at 4:51 pm #1157616I have a 2012 AWD Acadia. I pulled my 1750 Fishawk with 90 horse to Canada and back last summer. It was more than adequate. I read that the 2007 models had trouble
March 30, 2013 at 5:27 pm #1157629It has a ton of interior room. Actually a little more than a Yukon and thè mileage is better
March 30, 2013 at 11:29 pm #1157703My trailer doesn’t have brakes. How well does it stop for you guys that aren’t running brakes?
March 31, 2013 at 4:50 am #1157740my trailer does not have brakes, and it has not been an issue. Just need to plan ahead for stopping.
I have been very happy with my Acadia Denali for my tow vehicle.
JackMarch 31, 2013 at 8:53 pm #1157903I see 16 mpg listed in one post, everybody else about the same? I pull with my Durango (Hemi) and only get about 11 mpg. I have debated getting the Acadia, but was concerned about going to a V6. Thanks.
March 31, 2013 at 10:25 pm #1157927With my Acadia pulling a Alumacraft NAV175 i get 13 towing 16 city and +22 Hwy.

I get 12 towing with my Avalanche, but will take the 22+ highway and extra seating and gadgets, over my 14-15 highway in the avalanche that’s for sure!
Thanks for the input guys, greatly appreciated!! And a newer (used) Avalanche/suburban are out of my price range to get a vehicle with under 35,000 miles on it anyways! Looks like I’m going to be giving these rigs a serious look!
