My gal has never had one. I was planning on taking her to Shamrock’s/Nook tonight. Is there any other suggestions of Juicy Lucy’s? I have been to Matt’s, very good, but nothing special.
I am south of the river and wont travel too far.
Thanks!

Looks like Derek and I are both craving a 5-8 burger. I have never had the Matt’s version, but have wanted to try it. If you go to 5-8, give us your review in comparison. Both were featured on Man versus Food in ’09.

5-8 Club They made the original.
There are 2 diffrent places claiming to be the originator of the Juicy Lucy’s.
I’ve had the 5-8’s & Matt’s, plus the Nook & Groveland tap. Matt’s wins hands down.
If you go to the 5/8 club you better like salt, burgers were ok but the fries and onion rings were so salty we couldn’t eat them.
We won’t go back, but liked Matt’s, and been meaning to hit the Blue door one of these days.
Best burger so far has been at the Golden Nugget out by minnetonka, service and food were great, don’t know if they have a Juicy lucy there or not.

Not sure if they have a Juicy Lucy or not but since you live in the South Metro I throw out the Cove bar and grill in Prior lake – They make a great burger. Cant go wrong with a Burger joint connected to a Bait store. Both Matts and 5-8 make a great Juicy Lucy – I lean twards Matt’s just a little.
The blue door is good but completely over rated. for a great juicy lucy go toi tin cups on the corner of rice and maryland. Its not as popular as the other places mentioned but has had an appearance on the food channel. the blue door is tiny and usually packed, tin cups has a lot more space and a full bar
My bride and I went to Matt’s for an “original” a few years back. That was some greasy, gooey, goodness.
Blue Door is my personal favorite…the buffalo tots will blow your mind!
We went to matts and it was awesome. The gal said “I can’t believe I waited this long to eat one of these.”

5/8 0n Cedar wheres Matts?
I think around 35st and cedar if I remember right.
Good place, not fancy but the food was good and service has always been decent, wait till after 6? as there’s a parking restriction on Cedar and parking is a bit hard to find when they’re busy.
