Vermillion River

Has anyone been fishing the vermillion river in Hastings for crappies?? ive been there once when they are everywhere and it was a blast, seemed to be around this time, ice was pretty sketchy with maybe 2 inches. any info would be great!

I was down there 3 days after Thanksgiving 1 3/4″ to 2 ” of ice, only 3 feet of water though. 2 of us caught 40 to 50 crappies 9″ to 12″ in three hours. Since then have not been there but have heard the bite has basically shut off. The pike move in and the crappies vacate

I was wondering the same thing, I didn’t want to miss them! Maybe stop by tomorrow and see, if I do I’ll post back.
