I stopped at the Bait Box Tackle Shop in Waterville, MN on the way to the lake. Dennis, the owner said that huge perch were comming off Sakataha right behind his shop. I should have taken his advise and put my boat in there!

I got to Lake Tetonka well after the cold front came through this weekend, and man it was slow…. A few stripers on the points and some perch was the only thing I heard was going. I tried night fishing with Steve Olson (new EFN Staff Photographer) and we put in a good three hours with no action!

We worked the area where the river comes in and where it goes out, deep and shallow, weeds and drops, ligs and spinners, cranks and topwater, tails and live bait… nothing going.

I figure it has a lot to do with the weather and no moon. The water is dark and the fish just can not see with no light in it.

Oh well, there is next time… and Steve and I did get to have lots of great conversation!
