mille lacs- 26 kids

On Mon 6/17 my fishing club, Minnesota Valley In-fisherman Club, Apple Valley, sponsored and took 26 young kids from Eagan and Burnsville. We took two launches from Eddies and had a pretty good time. For four hours total for the two boats we had 82 Walleyes, 1 of those was under the slot, and 2 in the slot, that leaves 79 fish OVER the slot. we lost many fish as these young people had a hard time feeling some of the bites and not having a good hook set. at times we had doubles going. sure was fun. there were many smiling faces getting off the boats. and by the way the girls really did out do the boys. Thanks for taking all those kids Jack!! You can’t have too many fisherman for the future.

I bet that was a lot of fun. What a great time to have kids on Mille Lacs. Instead of missing out on a couple bites and having to live with that, they probably got more than a few chances to ‘get it right’ considering the hot Mille Lacs action.

That sounds like a great way to spend a day.
