I was on Mille Lacs for a total of 4.5 days between opener and May 18th. I’ll be back on Saturday for the first time since the 18th. It was like falling off a log then, I just found any ‘ole place on the vastness of the north end sand and caught fish.

Is the sand still going or will I be moving from sand to rocks to mud to find them? Just curious if the warming water has changed things a lot or if I’ll be able to get by doing the same thing.

Last weekend we found fish on the gravel bars to be very active. I was working 2 different spots where the transition from gravel to mud in 28′ to 33′ of water was holding the most fish. Then in the evening I switched to shallow rocks and had a great bobber bite going. I will be leaving in a couple of hours and hope to get an hour of rock fishing this evening. I will head to deep gravel in the morning and hope to fing the same pattern working again.
