I was wondering what the bite is like during July. Jigging, Rigging, Trolling??? I am planning on coming up that way July 13th-20th and would like to do some eye fishing. Where is a good place to stay??? Hotels or Resorts?

    Thanks,

    Jason

One of my favorite times of the year. Deep gravel in the 25-28 foot range. Pulling spinners/crawlers on bouncers or 3-ways. Sure fire way to cover ground and put fish in the boat.

    Jason,

My favorite July technique is trolling cranks. Bring out your Erie gear, (boards, cranks, etc….)

The mud and gravel will have some going fish on them too, Like Jon J mentioned power trolling spinners and crawlers is a strong potential that time of year as well.

Also, the smallies will be starting to get real active at that time. Mille Lacs has lots of mules..

    Eddy’s Lake Mille Lacs Resort (800) 657-4704

Grand Casino Mille Lacs (800) 626-5825

    McQuoid’s Inn 1-800-862-3535

    Econo lodge (800) 839-7006

Jason, These are just a few places to stay. There are lots of places around the lake to stay. Maybe someone here could give there reccomendations to you as well. I live close enough where I just go up for the day and drive home mostly.

    Check your PM….
