05-14-12 report

I got to work this morning and they said there wasn’t any work so i grabbed a buddy and off to Mille Lacs we went. we did a little searching around until we marked some fish of of a hump that topped out at 15ft, we fished in 22-26ft and over the next 6 hours caught 24 fish, of the 24 only two keepers with the biggest being this fish that was just over 28. Crawlers outfished leeches by far, we were pulling lindys with 9ft snells. The lake was calm and the bugs were bad until a breeze wopuld pick up. we probably could of searched around to find spots with more eaters, but it just felt good to catch some nice fish. Its going to be a good year on Mille Lacs

Man those bugs got bad this afternoon!! Fishing was almost as good as the bugs were bad, though. Mid-Junish out there already. Similar results, except we didn’t manage any “unders.” Not what we went for, so no worries there. Took a lot of pix (buddies camera ) and made alot of memories. Crawlers definately outfished leeches here too.
