Now that we are into March here on Leech we have many great days of perch fishing to look forward to. Currently the ice conditions couldn’t be better. There are reports of up to 42” of good quality ice (bring your extensions). The perch activity really starts to heat up now that the sun is starting to warm everything up and the longer periods of daylight. Those perch start to get hungry and can make for a very fun filled day on the ice. Not to mention that with the suns warming power in March makes for an enjoyable day anyway. A word of caution though there are some pressure ridges on the lake that you must be careful of and they only get more dangerous as spring approaches.

Remember that on most parts of leech you can still have your houses out until March 15.
