    Does the weight of the snow add presure to the ice and effect the fish movements like Barometric presure? I notice the water at times coming out of the ice hole and other times way down in the hole. {John}

    I do not feel that the weight of the snow is what makes the water come thru or go down the holes but either dropping of water level or runoff will cause these conditions but I have experienced some of my best ice fishing when water was coming out of the hole! This seems occur most with first ice and last ice so I think what you see is a sign of spring around the corner and should be some good ice fishing for a week or two and then get the boat out as open water is not far behind.
