If you are booking a guided fishing trip in North Dakota, be sure to ask if your guide is liscensed by the State of North Dakota. Guides must carry insurance and have their boat inpected by the ND G&F before a liscence is issued. Heavy fines will result of people who pass theirselves off as guides and are not liscensed. There will be a quite a few “guides” who no longer will be legal. Trading for trips, giving gratuities and such is considered payment for services rendered especially if the person taking you fishing represents themselves as a guide for hire. This can be a simple as passing out business cards, brochures, advertising, webpages and etc.

Ask to see their liscence. We will be asking to see yours.
