Has anybody been out to Devil’s Lake recently? I am going out there for the first time on Sunday with a couple buddies. We’ve heard of a few places to try, but it sounds like everything is a hit or miss. Does anybody have any suggestions on where to try fishing? We plan on fishing for walleyes or perch.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Take a underwater cam. with you. When I went up there last year it was hit and miss too.We weren’t seeing any action on are spring bobbers but fish was showing on vex.I drop the cam down to see what was going on .What I seen the perch were biteing. They grabed the waxy hold it for alittle bit then suck it in a little more.As soon as they sucked the hook in I set the hook. If you don’t have a cam. you can rent one from the Spirit Lake Marina.I think it was $10.a day. There full of help and info there. If we didn’t use the cam. the 4 days up there,I’m pretty sure it would’ve been a bad trip. Good Luck and post how you did up there. PS the casino has great food all you can eat for like $9.00,stake,shrimp and fish a diff. special every night.

Thanks for the info. The underwater camera would have definitely helped. We talked to a couple of guys that were using them. They knew exactly how the fish were biting and the size of the fish were that they were fishing. Might have to get a camera next time were out there. Which will hopefully be this weekend. We saw one at Ed’s Bait Shop that could be rented for $10 a day, which isn’t bad if you plan on being out from sun up to sun down.

P.S. There is a better report on the General Discussion Forum.
