I get a kick out of this image every time I fly through MSP (hanging up near one of the gates)… Not sure what kind of presentation they are going for with the weight and surface lure.

That’s funny you post this. I work at a resort…you would be surprised what some people can rig up.

Are you making fun of my Dad on purpose, or coincidentally???

No not at all. I think its more of a structure thing. When I fish top waters and see fish active but they won’t hit mine I try this and I do super hard “pops” when its under water. It stirs up alot of commotion and then immediately falls. It works. Especially when on teases it when the other hammer times it
July 25, 2020 at 8:06 am #1960242I don’t see it much, but supposedly one technique on the flats is a top water with a jig tied to the back to trail behind it. I’ve had fish, especially Jack’s, go after my popping cork when fishing…
…yeah, not so much when I’m not fishing?

You could be onto something there. I might try a modified version of that and tie the smaller jig on about 9-12″ in front of the larger hard bait. That would look more like a prey predator feeding situation.
