I have a chance to buy a Otter XT Pro X-Over Cottage for $550 NIB, unassembled (closeout). List is $720.

Am I going to regret I didn’t buy a Clam?????? My Buddy loves his clam.

I love my Otter. I have a Kenai Clam and wanted a little more room. The Cottage fit the bill for me. It’s not too heavy to load in my truck by myself, and there’s just enough room for my wife to join me.

$170 under list. I would learn to like it. Your could use it for a season and if you didn’t like it your can always resell it.

I’d take a otter over clam 100 percent of the time

Buy it for that price. You will not be disappointed. You have nothing to lose. It will be worth more than that in November. By the way, I own that shack and and older single door bench seat one. Perfect one man shack in my opinion.

The Otter is 20 lbs heavier than my Jason Mitchell Legend XL. Only .8 sq ft bigger. If you’re not walking out much or loading alone, I’m sure the Otter is awesome. I would buy the Clam 100%. Only because nobody else makes one that has that much room and weighs so little. The Otter 1 person isn’t big enough.

The cottage is light and easy to load and pull by your self. And he never mentioned what clam he was going to buy.
