Fishing report 9/11/15

    Was able to head out Friday down river to West Newton landing and head to the dam
    Fishing was slow but I got a small report so here it goes
    Stop for gas at the Kwik trip in Kellogg MN and headed to the Prairy bait shop.Tried to get information but got none.Picked up 6 suckers and worms.Ol blue dad and the hounds in tow headed to the landing.Chilly ride up to the dam and current was fast.
    We trolled the Wing dams on the MN side boated 2 saugers on worms in between the dams. Then pulled the suckers to try to get a trophy but no luck.Dad says I got a spot from a guy at work we fired up the Mecury and headed past the launch in the no wake up to the trees and got plate size crappies.
    Overall not bad for a short trip.

    I used to love using small suckers fishing walleye when my bros were using crawlers, leeches and fatheads.

    Thanks for the report Gabe, I’m sure it will start picking up for you when the water cools down.
