Have you tried an automatic dry pet food feeder? I’d like to find one that can be programmed for 2 or 3 feedings a day. I’m lazy and tend to just free feed with gravity feeders. But, that’s not working out so well with one of our current little family members, he’s turning into a real butterball. Have you had any success with using any of these programmable feeders?

    Nope,
The dogs get fed at 8am and 4pm.
Feeding time is one daily task I thoroughly enjoy.

Never tried one. Just like epg, my shepherd gets a cup at 6am and 1 when I or the lady gets home.

Ain’t that the truth. I had a big ole male Mastiff. He would sleep on the couch all day. At 4:00pm on the nose he would wake up and go stand by his bowl.

Twice a day here to. Raw diet keeps him trim. He actually needs to put on a little right now. Playing ball and daily walk keeps him in shape to.

My lab also gets about 1 cup every morning and evening. I take it you have a pretty busy schedule and no one else who can cover for you? Either that or you’re just straight up lazy like you said… LOL.

I also in the evening cup of food add a raw egg not every day but every other.

It’s very important that my dog maintain a healthy weight. The vet has told me several times that the one thing that can negatively affect a bigger dog’s joints is being over weight. Plus she had a minor knee issue when she was younger too.

Healthy snacks make a difference. My Springer loves raw carrots and raw green beans. When I pick beans in the garden he follows me around and tries to steal some out of the bucket.

He eats religiously at 07:00 and 18:00. A tablespoon of pumpkin keeps his stool firm.

Twice a day here. Keeping a dog trim is easy and requires no physical hardship whatsoever for the human. Just don’t overfeed them. Easy.

    Ha! Ripley does the same.

Every time the clock hits 6:30 I’m dumping out a half cup.

Oh yeah— I DO add a few cut-up baby carrots to most “suppers.”

My goal is for her to be able to see roosters farther away than I can, from the truck, by this fall.

Carrots are my dogs choice of snack as well.

6&12. Nice to know. Twice a day I can do something life changing. Labs don’t forget. Times determined by the 6 year old dogs seizure meds.

If a fat pet does not have some hormone issues it is all on the owner. A pet’s weight is very easy to control.

Seriously? It takes like 30 seconds to feed an animal. Maybe having a pet is just too big of an inconvenience for you?

I’m guessing your pet never gets walked, either.

One downside of keeping your dog lean is keeping the poop cleaned up asap… whistling doah
