People are always asking what are good spinning rods for walleye/Sauger fishing so why not have a thread where they can find their answers by reading everyones answers so they can decide what rod might be best for them.

I personally like the St. Croix Avid 6’6” medium with a fast tip rods. This is a very good all around rod for jigging, casting/pitching, and just about anything else you might want to use this rod for. Its a great all around rod. St. Croix rods are hard to beat for sensitivity and quality. I sure love em.
    Thanks, Bill

I love my 6’3″ St.Croix Avid Series Rod. Its a medium action with an extra fast tip. I love it for Jigging. Great sensitivity and plenty of strength for the big girls!!

I have a number of “favorites.”

6′ 6″ Legend Elites for throwing light blade baits on braid.

6′ Legend Elite for vertical jigging.

    7’6″ Avid for dragging jigs.

Hands down the best rigging rod I have ever owned is a 7′ Shimano Crucial rod. I set out to purchase a Compre, but the people at Shimano offered me a great deal on the Crucial. I also like the 7’6″ St. Croix Avid, but it gets too be a little too much sometimes. A few times a year I use my Uncle’s G Loomis rods, and they are pretty awesome too.

Berkley Series Ones are my all time favorite. I have about a dozen starting with 2nd year of production and still use that rod almost every outing. Wish they wouldn’t have redesigned them a couple years ago the 2 new ones I have aren’t what the older ones were.
