What are your feelings about maybe the top 5 walleye lakes in MN? Have fished Kab the last couple of years in Aug and now July and have certainly caught fish, but…

What about good walleye lakes with some good panfish and northern action for the kids? Thanks

Not really a well known one, but Elephant Lake in Orr, MN is an awesome lake. Big pannies, lots of nice walleyes, and more smallmouth than anyone could ever want. Its only 700 acres, but its a good one otherwise I would say Leech Lake

    My top 5 would be:

    Pools 2-4, Mississippi River

    LOTW

    Mille Lacs

    Leech

    Cass

Lots of other great lakes in the state and a case could be made for many others such as Rainy, Ottertail, Winnie, Kab,Pokegma etc., but these ones I listed are my favorites for various reasons.

vermillion would be my first choice if pannies and pike are #1 and leech would be #2.

    my top 5 are
    1: lake of the woods
    2: mille lacs lake
    3: Vermilion lake
    4: Rainy lake
    5: Leech lake

I would throw another variable into the equation and ask what type of walleyes are you looking for, your best chance to catch the fish of a lifetime, consistent big fish, or numbers of fish?

Otherwise my top 5 would be:

    1. LOTW
    2. Leech
    3. Mille Lacs
    4. Rainy River
    5. Rainy Lake
