Does anybody have anything good or bad to say about this motor. I have only ran Merc and Suzi motors so I don’t know anything about them. Thanks for the help

If I’m not mistaken, that 140 Johnson IS a Suzy! I had a 05 140 Suzuki and loved it. Awesome motor!

One more question for you guys, is this enough motor for a 1994 Ranger 692? THANKS
June 17, 2009 at 5:32 am #784541Ya, you won’t break any speed records, but it’ll work just fine. I loved everything about that motor except for one thing. The motor is actually overrated on horespower. I believe it turning about 128 horse at the prop, which really makes it more like a 130-125 hp. The 150 Yammie I believe is turing more like 162 hp. Pushed my 18ft Lund at about 43mph/gps. You’ll like it, great on gas and very, very quiet!

Best thing about it, it always starts right up, never any hesitation. Ultra-reliable. Might not have the best hole shot in the world, but I could care less about that anyway. Ultra reliable, especially in some of the big water that I fish. Trolls down well, ultra quiet… Quieter than my other 4 stroke kicker (T-8) at trolling speeds. Awesome!
June 17, 2009 at 8:27 am #784581I have a 2004 140 Johnson. No complaints really. I fish quite often in the cold weather and it has always started immediately. It’s not likely to have a great hole shot, but it it very, very good on gas and run’s real quiet like the others have said. Can’t offer much about the boat you are looking at. I generally run about 40 mph with my 18 foot Crestliner.
Good luck, I think you would be happy with this purchase as a motor.
