Just bought a new trolling motor with more power I’m replacing a 12-24 volt trolling motor with a straight 24 volt system. The old one had 3 wires red, black and white. The new one only has red and black, my question is do I wire the plug the same as it is now and elimate the white wire. Thanks for the help in advance

Yes sir, don’t need the white anymore that’s the 12 volt wire. Red to pos from plug to batt 1, black to neg from plug to batt 2, and a jumper from neg batt 1 to pos batt 2. Ron

You’ll probably need a new plug, when I bought my trolling motor we couldn’t get it to work, the guys at the shop used a 3 wire plug, until an ole timer came along and told them it wouldn’t work and to change it and then my motor worked.
