It’s a Suzuki and I have not heard anything bad about that motor.
Are you sure the 94 140s are Suzuki. I thought just the newer 4 strokes were made by them. But I could be wrong.
Sandbar would know for sure. Maybe he will see this post. He has an older Zuke 140 4-stroke. One of the first but I dont remember the year.
Mines a 2003 Suzuki 4 stroke. I am guessing a 1994 Johnson 140 is a two stroke and made by Johnson.
All 140’s are zuki’s. Smooth runners, but under powered so I have heard.

Agree.

I stand corrected…there was a 140 two stroke made by Evinrude /Johnson.
Not exactly sure what year they switched over. Close to 94, give or take a year or two.
If it is a VRO, I’d shy away from it. But that is from a guy who would shy away from just about any 17 year old motor. But if the seller says the VRO has been disconnected for years and runs great. Might not be a deal killer.

I had a 1995 Evinrude 130hp with the VRO connected and it ran great. Sold it last year.
