    When making deer jerky how do you IDO’ers prefer the meat cut, with the grain or against it? Lookin to make a batch soon and was curious about this.

    We typically cut across the grain. Good for you making your own. It’s a bit of a hassle, but always worth it when you take that first bite.

    With the grain will make it tough to chew.

    I cut mine both ways the first time around and I definitely prefer with the grain. I’d grind my meat and extrude it if I didn’t want it chewy.

    Thanks for the info guys. I’ve only tried it with the grain and it turned out good. I think I’ll try some against and see if I like it.
