Just a FYI. Cub foods have pork shoulder on sale this week for .99 a Lb. it’s been awhile since I have seen it priced this low. Be a good time to load up. I think they are 2 packs and the ad says limit 2.

I snagged one this morning plus a 24 ounce pack of Hormel black label bacon for $4.99 which is 8 bucks off. Haven’t seen bacon priced this low in a while either.

If you have the “GetUpside” App you can get 14% back from Cub.

I already had a 2 pack that I paid 2.49 Lb. for in the freezer. But at this cost I had to pick up a few more.

The really nice part in addition to the price was that they are vacuum sealed too so even a long foray into the freezer isn’t going to ruin them with time.

I picked up (2) two packs today. The question is do I get more? I already had 1 in the freezer but will need some for making venison sausage. I better go back. doah

I’m still mad that I didn’t pick up more salmon when Cub had it half price. I better not screw this one up. hah

I see DT picked up some for his Venny sausage, next year I’m assuming.

Is that a long time to sit in a freezer? 9-10 months.
I should grab a few but that just seems like a long time even though they are vacuum packed…kind of.
    Thoughts?

I still have about 80 pounds of scrap in my freezer I will be dealing with over the next few months. Not sure how long they would last in the freezer.

If you see a sale like that again on Salmon let us all know here. I’ve wanted to smoke some on the new pellet grill but get price shock every time I think about buying some.

In my retirement I took a part time 2 day a week job stocking shelves at the local grocery store.

Rumors have it pork loins go on sale Friday, here anyway, for those that are interested.

Thanks Jon, I thought about posting this also. I only picked up a small one for this weekend in the crock pot. Nothing better than getting off the water and having dinner ready with little to no effort.

Could be, I just grabbed one, while picking up a few items for dinner and did not look that hard.

I wish I had a cub store closer. I could use a few of these right now. Not sure if worth the drive at current gas cost.

Well, not .99 cents, but the sale is back at $1.99 lb. Big hunk of pork for the smoker at a decent price.

hyvee has bone in shoulder for $1.69lb going on right now, had the wife run out to our store today but they were out. Going to have to stop one night this week to try again, got about 60lbs of venison to make into sticks and sausage.
