December 11, 2009 at 8:20 pm #822691Were you in the channel on Chisago or the south end? Thinking about possibly trying the south end if we can still park down there on the road?
December 12, 2009 at 4:50 am #822808just a lil info was out on the channel just out from the boat launch tonight from two hours before sunset to hour after, was alot of fish on the vexilar in 11ft. but it wasnt a good bite some small sunnies and one large mouth. the bite isnt suspose to be so slow like this for first ice.
December 14, 2009 at 6:51 pm #823289Thanks for the report Jason. We ended up going to West Rush instead of chisago and caught a bunch of average sized crappies. Always seems like first ice can be fickle for the shallow bite on the chisago lakes. Some years I have done well, but others not so well. Sounds like you were out during the peak time too. Just have to get out there and try again.
