Hit the lake from 1:30 -6. The drive on areas are in excellent shape. Everything is frozen back up really well. Started fishing out in 50 feet of water and found crappies stacked 25-45 feet of water. Thanks to Mike Finke for putting this info out there in previous posts to find suspended crappies on south center. Put down a buckshot rattling spoon with waxies and caught two crappies right away. Switched to a small silver castmaster spoon as the fish seemed to get more finicky. None of the crappies i caught in the deep water were over 10 inches long. Most were 7-8 inchers with a few around 9 inches. As it grew more toward dark the school seemed to get smaller. Tried the south bay by the resort around 5 with one small crappie and a couple small sunfish to show. I am wondering where they go as it gets dark. Shallow, maybe? Or are they just moving around in the deeper hole.

They will usually more shallower at evening, thus the reason most of the permanant houses are set up there. Look for those fish to move into the Pancake Is area when the ice starts to melt.
