Never tried the chip, usually fish a couple spots on the hay river though..
It is great for sucker fishing just make sure before you harvest that it is a legal species to harvest. Blue suckers, River Redhorse, and Greater Redhorse are protected and can reach 12 or more pounds!
I usually wait until mid spring. What water temp do you find the run starting?
Hey I don’t mind hooking a few smallies down there. Shhh, lets keep that quiet though.
I don’t fish em but my cuz goes every spring and he will start any day now, excellent for pickling this time of year, not to mention the bonus eyes he catches

Seen it first hand, Pete is putting a hurt on the smallies .
For me the sucker run starts when I see the first robins start to build their nests. I like fishing the Dunnville bottoms below the RR bridge.

Hey Darrin,
Have you ever caught or seen any Blue Suckers down there?
