…….everbody in the IDA Cat-forum and particularly to Fisher Dave who took a perfect stranger under his wing and not only taught him some of his tricks and strategies but also showed him some of if not all of his great shore fishing spots in the Metro Mpls area, thanks Dave!

Also big props to Manny “blacksportsman” who called last night at 7:45 “I was just going to stay home and chill” and said he had a spot he really wanted to try so we did… thanks for the net job and great pics I owe you .

I’m not much for story telling or reports so here are some Pics of my new Personal best Flathead.

No arm extension on a fish this big you actually have to rest the fish on your body and arch your back to support it. Pictures are great but you really have to see a big fish like this in person to truly appreciate it.

Brian I was trying to smile but I tweaked my back weighing her….I did scream in jubilation for 15 minutes after the release if that helps any.

Hurry Manny it’s getting real heavy…

Minus my net weight of 3 pounds 7 oz’s she tipped the scale at #41-15 oz’s….will say 42 if thats OK.

It measured 42 1/2 L X 28″ G, not real long but supper chunky from head to toe.

And the best picture of all…soon to be on someone else’s line… could be you!

Thanks IDA! I love you guys….

I just remebered my net weight was dry weight I’ll have re weigh it wet, might have to knock her down to 41 and change.

    AWESOME FISH, GARY!!

    I told ya I had a feeling, didn’t I??

I was more than happy to assist you with your new personal best flattie and be a part of the whole experience. That fish was a thick piggy and neither of us realized how big it truly was until it hit the net.

And the screaming in jubilation?? I checked my clock…it lasted a wee bit longer than 15 minutes

Congrats once again…we’ll do it again real soon and I’ll definitely take you up on that beer(s)

Very nice. Where was that one last Saturday night??? And more importantly……where was the phone call to me last night.

Great fish. It’s my turn next time.

Was this nice Flathead off pool 2? It sounds like they are picking up. Any other details would be appreciated.

Sweet Lord!! What a hog! Wish I was there… We got skunked at the red dot, fished from 7 to 9pm. What time was that one caught?

    Hey Pier,
LOL, Must have been my smack talkin…. Looks like it kicked it gear for ya.
Hell of a nice fish Mate!!!!
You definitely earned a tip of the hat….. Lots of hard work and time in finally………. pays some big dividends.

Its funny how a big one can tweak the back when you least expect it…. also funny how you don’t notice till the adrenalin wears off especially the next day, and your left with the morning after glow….

I do have to comment… Whats up with Manny this year… He’s got the MOJO working OT for being present when the hogs are lurking.

    Nice work guys.
thanks for sharing the story and pics.

I was going to say the same thing about Manny. He’s either present or catching them. Manny, when we going fishing?

I dont know.. the fish quit biting when Manny got to the spot on the 22nd.. I stood around and fished with him until after midnight with nothing to show after 5 were caught before he was there.. hmmm

Mojo eh? Dont now about that, but its always good having Manny around

Manny just need a good cat slap in the face to straighten him out.
