Canon/Straight Rivers?

    I grew up in Faribault… but we never fished those waters for cats. I do remember hearing people talk about them, but never hearing about people fishing for them.

    Curious… has anyone ever fished for any species of cat upriver from Canon Falls or Randolph? Heck, even Northfield (other than bullheads, anyway)?

    I may give it a whirl next time I’m down there. I even have a few decent spots in mind. Just curious what anyone else’s experiences are…

    Cannon river from Northfield to Cannon Falls is chock full of channel cats.Used to live over in Cannon and fished many nights for channels on that stretch.Would put in at the 56 bridge and go upstream in my duck boat and work my way back down to the landing all night.

    Then there’s some sense to the notion that from Northfield to Faribault should hold some fish as well. Gonna have to try this.
