Speckled Catfish???

    I caught a catfish with spots on Pool 2 yesterday. My friend told me that it was a speckled catfish. The DNR didnt list this on their website. It was less than a pound. Does anyone have info or experience with these things? Just curious-Thanks

    Sounds like a small channel cat. Did it have a forked tail?

    Jon J is correct! It is a immature channel some poeple call them fiddlers, or speckled cats but they are actually immature channels…… poeple also confuse big channels for blues and vice versa….

    Definitely a little Channel Cat. Those small ones are the best eating, I prefer them over walleye. We got a couple of 14″ channels Saturday and they came home with me.
