My map of the North/Sturgeon Lake area shows some of the land is “for use by indians” so I’m wondering if it’s ok to fish in there. Can you camp on that land, or is it considered trespassing?

I guess this question is mostly for Chris (catdadmn) since I think he fishes this area. I basically want to know if it’s safe/legal to go on that land. I would assume so since there is a boat launch on North Lake, but it’s nice to be sure. thanks

August 20, 2001 at 3:08 pm #232853I fish and guide the area quite a bit. The area closed to fishing as said, is part of the Res. I would imagine if you camped on the west side of North Lake, you would not have a problem. The area east of Mileys is a wildlife management area. I don’t know the rules about camping there.
