does anyone know if there are flatheads above the taylor’s falls dam on the st. croix? I’ve looked at the DNR survey for the area south of taylor’s falls but there isn’t anything on what fish are in the northern stretch. From what I’ve heard/caught myself I know there are big channel cats, giant sturgeon, and a small number of big carp besides the usual common species. I would like to know if there are flatheads and/or gar up there because it’s a really nice place to fish and I want to do some more fishing there. thanks.

for all intents and purposes there is not a very fishable population north of the dam….. there are some scattered fish….. your best bet for flats are the holes down river of the dam……
