Can anyone ID this aquatic creature for me?

Found this on shore of a local lake…definitely does not look good or native. Soft body squirting mollusk of some sort. If anyone can ID that’d be great.

While I personally cant identify what it is, I would highly recommend that you contact the dnr with the picture and the name of the lake. here is a link

It looks like decomposing water lily rhizomes “roots”.

My gut feeling when I first saw this post was plant. I know I have seen similar things.

I see those things floating from a short distance and my first thought is gator or snake before realizing what it is.
