Where do you guys find your best bargains on ammo (primarily for handguns)? I try to help out the local gun shop with my bait, terminal tackle, and some small boxes of ammo from time to time…but the prices on ammo are absurd.

I’m looking mostly for .380acp and 9mm. I’m not picky as it’s for target shooting… mainly cheap as the #1 priority. With the Spring weather finally here (I think) and the wife getting into shooting, the ammo is being eaten up rapidly. I’m glad my wife loves to go run through 50 shots and develop her skills and comfort on any nice evening, but I am the one getting to replenish ammo cans in the safe.

Palmetto State Armory is usually my first stop. I’m not sure what kind of quantity you are looking for, I will buy 500 to 1,000 or more at a time which means free shipping. Great deals to be had here and great service.

    Rediculously low 9mm – https://palmettostatearmory.com/fiocchi-shooting-dynamics-9mm-115gr-fmj-50rds-9ap.html

I used to buy from Freedom Munitions. Hard to beat their prices, especially on reman. After a number of quality issues (weak rounds that wouldn’t cycle, squibs etc) I returned what I had left for a refund.

    http://www.ammotogo.com Is also very good.

Search engines like http://www.ammoseek.com or http://www.gunbot.net (my preference) help you find the best deals by caliber.

Taking inflation into account ammo prices are cheaper now than ever. Time to buy, buy, buy.

https://www.reddit.com/r/gundeals/ provides an army of people who find and post direct links to the sales from the sites above, and they will usually calculate CPR including shipping and provide reviews of how the ammo performs in certain firearms with more detail than you want. If you peek at the site now and then you will typically do much better than any brick and mortar store that isn’t having a going out of business sale. They also often provide warnings for stores that have lost peoples’ credit card info, had slow shipping, or sucked at customer service.

It’s basically a huge group of people that are that friend who you would never ask again whether a .270 or 30.06 is better for white tail.

r/gundeals, ammo threads on arfcom or FB, and signing up for emails from vendors known to have low prices such as Palmetto, SGAmmo, Natchez, bonefrog, Brownells, Sportsman’s Guide, Grafs, AIMsurplus, etc.

your target prices right now should be (might be able to even do better)
17 cents per round for 9mm 115gr FMJ
    3 cpr for .22lr
    25 cpr for 5.56mm 55gr FMJ

    Stack it deep.
