I leave tomorrow for my 30th Boundary Waters trip and I am very excited. While everyone going is OLDER now, we have a good trip planned. 3 very veteran paddlers and 1 rookie. If we can all survive the portages on the first day, all will be fine. We have planned this trip to fish a lake in search of the Boundary Waters Gran Slam – Walleye, SM Bass, Northern, and Lake Trout. I have caught all 4 before, but never all on one trip in one lake. Hopefully the wind and weather will cooperate with us for a few days at least. I will report back on June 13 and let you know how we do.

Good luck to you! Boundary Waters can have some great fishing if you know what you are doing up there whistling

Hope you guys have a great trip. I love it up there. Caught my first laker out of the canoe up in the good old BWCA. On my birthday too. Rose and South lake. We ran into big perch that day also..
