Once again my wife and I are taking it is the shorts. Thank god I’m on Medicare, even my drugs plan went up 17.00 a month from what I was paying. She was paying 786.00 and was told that her plan she had will no longer be able to get. They are giving her a new plan and the price on the new plan is 980.00. Mine you she does not go to the doctor. I can not remember the last time she went. Her old plan was better this one. Higher co-pay and deducable higher. IT BLOWS MY MINE!!!!!!! We will be looking around.

Thank you Socialist Party. And we all know were that came from. $11,760.00 takes one hell of a chuck out of our income.

Hey, you sent him from your state. grin

This Obama care is a joke. His whole legacy will be directly tied to this fiasco.

Just came in the mail today from BCBS.
My wife’s went from $220 t0 $340. I haven’t received mine yet but anticipate the same results.
Remember the Pres said The Affordable care act would bring the budget back into line and lower the national debt.
FYI – I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn. whistling

she is paying 630.00 out of her check every month!!

My beef isn’t with my premium but the power that my insurance thinks it has over my well being. I would conservatively say that half the prescriptions that my doctor writes for me is either not covered or only covered a very small fraction because there aren’t generics available. The end result is that I don’t get the medication because I’m not paying $200 – $300/month for medication for the rest of my life. Why should one prescription cost me $5 and another one cost me $105? Doesn’t make sense.

I dream of one day receiving a notice from BCBS saying you’re premium has gone down! But instead it’s hiked up another grand per person covered.

Just got my renewal yesterday. 46% increase. $400 a month increase ouch. Family of 4 coverage. Switched from BCBS to Health partners last year when BCBS rates went up over 50%.

The time spent for getting the insurance is nuts. My wife spend 40hrs plus each year to keep ours. Last year they kept telling us it was good to go and in the end ended up not being insured for January. I’m sure we will see a fine for that at tax time. What a mess.

The group-health market is not always better. Check individual rates through an independent.

I’m going out on a limb to guess you live in South Dakota. That’s what happens when companies are required to offer guaranteed-issue health coverage with no underwriting other than DOB and tobacco use (Y/N)… i.e. the Affordable Care Act.

    Fun facts:

    – BCBS underestimated the average cost/member by more than $90/month…
    – 135+ people bought policies and cancelled after receiving services here in Iowa
    – 12 of those claims were <$100,000
    – Claims > $50,000 increased by 18%
    – 33% more prescriptions issued in the $2500-$20000 price range (see a problem here?)
    – BCBS paid out $1.28 for every $1 received.

    I could go on…….. It’s a broken system.

In MN my rates on individual Catastrophic/Major Medical coverage have gone from $63/mo to $206/mo in 4 years from pre-Gov’t intervention to now….but it is called the Affordable Care Act, which is nice…

I’m waiting on my renewal as I type. It went up last year $165 per month to $1545 a month for me and the wife with bigger deductible and bigger copays. Scares me what is gonna happen this year. Ah some of the joys of being self employed.

Yes many of the people on government handouts have better insurance than the people working. It gives them absolutely no incentive to get a job. devil
