Fished the main lake yesterday from sunup to sundown….most ice was 8-10″ with some 6″ ice here and there. Searched A LOT before finally finding some fish. Managed to c&r many 9-10″ gills with one hoss pushing 11″. A great day to be on the ice.

I enjoyed fishing there while attending Iowa St. Did quite well on the crappies as well as bass. I liked fishing Hickory Grove for panfish.

No, I was up near the NW arm. I fish all over that lake in winter, but this year has been tougher. Deeper brush/rocks is typically the key, but I have done better so far in the 14-18ft zone on brush and rocks. I sorted through a lot of rocks and trees before finally connecting. Not hearing any real good reports from there and personally went to Easter Lake earlier this week cuz I just wanted to catch fish (slayed the panfish there). I really wish I could help more but so far this winter the fishing is about as bad as it was this summer….and that is not good at all.

Hope that doesn’t bode the same for this spring

Yeah, no kidding… Big Creek really bummed be out last summer. I am trying to remain optimistic about this spring…

I still thinking about my self imposed ban of there this summer, but I’ll see if the bite picks up
