Nelson and I are out filming near Detroit Lakes and this weather change has the fish going nuts. I haven’t caught this many 9.5 to 10.5 inch gills in a long time! Anybody else out fishing right now? I’d bet the bite is good all over right now.

Best bait for us has been a 1/16th ounce Flash Champ spoon in Perch or Pink UV tipped with spikes. The smaller gills and crappie won’t touch it and the big ones won’t leave it alone.

I’m with you ^^^. Yesterday was a bust for me.

Looks like you better weather up there too – rain and fog here all day in the SE corner of the state…

    Good luck!

Nice fish!!! This weekend was one of the best weekends I have ever had for numbers of gills, no giants but plenty of eaters. Caught roughly 200+ fish yday, pink/white VMC tingler spoon with a waxie started the year as my search lure and has quickly become my go to! The whole month around Chetek has been good, but this weekend the fish were extra charged up for sure.

Great to see you putting the hammer down on them and hopefully we will all see the end result soon.

Hey, I recognize those bluegills, those look exactly like the ones from the aquarium at the Cabelas in Rogers!

In south central Michigan, I’m thinking of getting the boat out. How depressing!!

We pounded the perch on Saturday as well. What a blast. 2 weekends in a row.

Had to put on the rain gear, but I couldnt pass it up.I knew they would bite well today by the reactions I was getting yesterday.I spose after a few days of negative/neutral feeding activity on there part it took me by suprise when they came up and slammed it again.Missed more fish then caught but they need a little advantage now and then.

Some lakes in Polk County, WI are producing. I had a 100+ fish day in late November. It has been pretty darn good since then.
