Not really a fish, but lost my 20 lb navy anchor on 2 mile out of Hunters on Friday. Has a blue 50 ft rope and GPAS bungee on it. If you’re fishing out there, careful for snags

two words ” SPOT LOCK”. sorry for the loss of the anchor. I haven’t had one in the boat for 2 years.

Even with a kicker and a tm. Anchor is always present for safety reasons.

I fish almost exclusively on Ml, I don’t have to worry about being drawn down current into a lock and dam, but I get your point. I guess if 2 motors fail me it’s just meant to be.

Plus not everyone has $1500 to drop on a new trolling motor.

I would at least have an anchor in the boat. I think it might even be a requirement in MN? Not 100% sure on that though.
June 14, 2018 at 8:11 am #1780286Spot lock is not the end all, be all in terms of “anchoring.” It doesn’t hold me in 3 footers or heavy current so I still use a standard anchor.
