So I was out handlining and I have water temps in the low 40’s.. Im picking up a few males here and there but it’s early… water temps are just to low yet for mass quantities of males milting the eggs… So as I’m heading back down stream I dial in my speed and settings on my Bird to get a good look at what I think looks like good spawning areas… When I see a couple real nice marks towards shore..
I do a 180 and hit spot lock and within a half dozen casts I hook up !!!

Did you happen to grab a pic of your screen when you seen the marks?

    Hey Guys,

I did not save the screen shot…. sorry doah

As far as dialing in the image, here is what I do… the slower I go boat speed the slower the scroll rate… mess with the contrast until you like what you see.. then dial in from there… I bet I still do not have the “Best Image” but it constantly changes and I continue to make adjustments…

Sorry I do not have a “Set it Forget it” setting tongue

I agree Dave. Fishing the sand of the Missouri river last spring we would drag jigs with the side imaging on. Then cast to fish off to the sides of the boat. See one, cast to it and catchit was awsome. Caught some real nice gals with the biggest at 32″s.
