Beautiful Saturday Morning on the Mississippi River

I went out in search of some walleyes on Saturday.. I was out early and got an awesome view of a sunrise about to happen…
I did not catch much for walleyes but that’s ok.. I had lots of action… Smallies and crappies were on fire at times…even a few real fat largemouth… then later in the day i came across a school of stripers that really put a tug on the line !!!

Sun up to sun down I would guess I caught near 60-75 total fish… (only two walleyes) but thats a good day in my book !!!

Wow. I took a look at the snow on by boat cover and decided to shore fish that day instead….I salute you! Sounds like a great day.

Koonce, striper or a wiper? I have issues trying to tell them apart. I’ve always been told for down here there are no stripers in Iowa. (Al-tho there are strippers here!)

I was just south of town Sat. and caught a few smallies.
