What a great morning weather wise this day was. Light winds, clear skies, cool air temps. On the water at 7 am, went to rip-rap area, and immediatly got bit. A very aggressive 36 inch northern on the 3rd cast, quickly landed and released the fish. The next 2 hours worked a 500 ft section of rip-rap and caught 14 smallmouth. Most of the smallmouth were 16 inch, with one close to 18 inch. 1/8 oz jig, 5 inch white k-grub, 4-6 foot of water. There would be just a tick on the line, no pressure, or pulling, just a tick, set the hook and fish on. Most of the action was from 8-930am. Off the water at 11 am., what a great morning.

Hoosier are you fishing down stream from the Cass St. bridge or up stream? Any trouble with boat control in all the current? I’ve been out a few times the last few weeks and done well on the largemouths but my two smallie spots haven’t produced. If you could point me in the right direction that would be great, gonna try and get out Tues. morning. Thanks
