This is direct from Hayward Power Sports:

“The Sawyer County Area of Northern Wisconsin is blessed with over 600 miles of groomed Snowmobile and ATV Trails. Technically the snowmobile trails never close in Sawyer County, but with numerous trails crossing lakes, rivers, and swamps common sense dictates that solid ice is needed in addition to snow.

Lakes are now being staked! Lost LandLake, Chippewa Flowage and Tiger Cat Flowage was staked yesterday the 13th. SpiderLake Chain, NelsonLake, Grindstone and Couderay will be staked this weekend. The Alliance meeting is the 18th and we’ll have a complete list posted on the 19th. or as they are reported. Groomers are out, we have about 6 inches and could use a few more next week. Conditions this early are the best we’ve seen in 10 years, think snow and come up for the holidays!”
