We are heading to the Waubay area for our annual family trip, just wondering if anyone has info on the bite right now? Not looking for spots just general info on depth and what you are using.

Also curious, more so if the water levels have come back up a bit?

Some fish can be caught up in the weeds during the day or along the algae lines. Pulling or casting flicker shads has been the best method for me this summer, but jigs along the weeds or rocky points in the clear water have produced fish at sunset with the falling water temps.

Only a few eyes and perch yesterday on Waubay. We did pick up a few more of each on Pickeral.
September 27, 2016 at 8:18 am #1641859Got back Monday from our annual trip, fishing was tough with wind and rain everyday. We did manage to get our limit of eyes everyday after the first day. Very few Perch, mainly because it was so tough to fish the areas that we normally catch them.
Bitter was decent fishing in the 10 to 20 foot range and as much out of the wind as we could find. Waubay was a tough bite and Pickerel was fair. Most fish in the 16 to 21″ range.
