I’m looking for first ice opportunities near or on Farm Island Lake, has anyone been out and if so is there any fishable ice in the area?

My son and I were on Woppogasett a week ago last night (12/1)trying for first ice eyes. Three to four inches of ice. Eyes did not cooperate. 2 flags, no fish!!

If your after big crappies, park at the road side rest stop at Little Pine on 169 and walk out to the second point and use your flasher to mark fish on the drop. Big slabs bite after sun up. Then head across 169 to Hickory to the deep hole in the center of the lake. Besure to practice CPR.
Good Luck
December 13, 2004 at 3:10 pm #331493Thanks Derek, I’m going to try for a Thursday or Friday trip this week, hopefully we’ll be making some good ice over the next few days. Any word on the bays on Mille Lacs and early ice perch?
