Rest in peace Steve. You will be missed. He left on his bike and never returned home. He was a one of a kind guy and my good buddies uncle. We went up all the time to see him and fish the rainy river. Or lotw. He was so welcoming and easy to talk to guy. And I’m heart broke for his wife and family.

Yes its true. Or I’d never post it. I got the call last night. My son and i were just up there at his house not long ago. We always went up to fish and would end up with endless amounts of chores and loved helping him and his wife robbie out.

I will always remember ringing his doorbell in the dark and him stumbling to the door rubbing his eyes, half asleep…..

    Me: “Sorry for waking you”
Steve: “no problem, I was up waiting for you.”

He was one of the good ones. So sad.

One of my favorite places to stop for bait. What a sad deal.

I just stopped there on Tuesday and got some bait from him. He was busy working outside on his older pontoon that he was using to fetch bait.
Super nice guy as always… RIP

we loved stopping in and getting bait from Steve. Always took care of us, got us the info we needed and always had probably the best selection of jigs in baudette.

Sorry to hear that, Bearcat. I just started my love affair with LOTW this past winter and by my third time buying bait there he knew my name. Service that’s rare these days.
