Got out fished by the wife again today, she got a 31 in her, up here on LOTW these fish are like footballs. Didn’t have a scale to weigh here and didn’t take the time to measure around her but she was fat and wanted to get her back in the water. Any good guesses on the weight

Northeast of long point a few miles. Big fish are just stacked up out there in the mud

    Congratulations to her and you.

My buddy caught a 31″ when we were up at Lake of the Woods in early June. It was football like, just like you are describing. We took a girth measurement on it of 17.5″ as he is planning to get a replica made. The conversion says 12.65 pounds. It was an incredible day, he caught a 30″ also. Another guy caught a 29.5″ and I caught a 27″. All vertical jigging in the same spot. It was awesome.

We are heading up Thursday through Sunday, staying at Long Point and plan on trolling the basin. We are all excited to get up there again.

10.5-11 lbs, like chubs said, would be my guess. A couple months ago and that thing was probably over 12 lbs. A few springs ago on the Rainy River, I caught a pre spawn 30”x18.5” that went 11.5 lbs on the scale. Pre/post spawn makes a big difference.

I was out there yesterday too. In hindsight, I wish I would have pulled cranks over some mud. We pulled spinners and caught plenty of eaters in 14-18’

Must be a really good walleye bite out there right now. Lots of big fish seem to be caught lately. Not of the skinny unhealthy Mille Lacs kind either.

I’ll be up Thursday-Saturday – can’t wait. We are planning to fish all over – reefs, mud, etc. Looks like we may need to start in the mud! With the warm temps, has there been an algae bloom yet?
