Good one BC! I went out this morning to walk a bean field, and the dog took off and found a dead buck just off the field. We finished the morning both finding a shed in the field as well. Turns out the farmer knows the buck well so he’ll get that once the dnr sends the tag.

My neighbor buddy amd i took both our daughters out 8, and 6 and did 3 miles in the woods. The little girls were troopers. We did not find any sheds, but we did find a deer trail we followed for a little over half a mile that had fresh quarter size blood spots every 10 yards or so. Once we hit the large field the blood trail and tracks were lost due to snow drifting. We came out with nothing to show, but the girls Learned alot about tracking a animal which was really fun to see.

Put in 3 miles last night and got blanked. Saw a handful of bucks still sporting their racks.

I pulled a camera last night and as of this week I still see about 70% holding here in the metro. 11 bucks. 2 bald and 2 with one holding on. 7 still hanging onto both sides.

This area traditionally holds late into the season. So there is that…

I’m in SE MN. We walk a mix of public and private all over the bluff country. The dog does really good in the fields, but he gets distracted pretty easy in the woods.
