Here is a good way to raise your motors up without messing with the flywheel bolts. I went up (1) hole and added a 3/16″ thick 6061 aluminum plate to offset the motor back so it sits flush with the top trim pc on the splash well. The extra 2-3 lbs will add some support to the transom and will provide full support for the motor bracket in the higher position.
The new motor height matches the hull line much better. I will have it on the water later today again to verify the results.

That’s interesting.. man it looks like the motor could just roll (tip) on the bar but looks like it worked )

I’m doing the same thing with my 2019 Comp 205 & VMAX SHO 115hp tiller. It’s in the second hole but looks like it should be in the 3rd.

I was chicken and ordered the lifting ring , they did warn me to make sure the fly wheel doesn’t spin backwards.

Can’t wait to here your results!

    Update –
Well last night I had the boat out with my daughter…. boat had 3 (31) series batteries up front, 72″ ulterra, 1 (24) series battery in back, (3) seats in it and a 15′ Talon that is quite heavy along with a 1/2 dozen fishing poles and a 3/4 tank of gas.
Running a Yamaha 20″ Saltwater 2 – I was getting approx 5950 rpms and 58 mph with the motor trimmed up high enough to throw a decent rooster tail. I did not have any noticeable spin out at the trim level I was running at WOT. If you try to run at 30-40 mph with the motor trimmed that high the boat wants to porpoise.
With the motor trimmed down almost all the way I could take as sharp as turn as anyone would want to with little to no cavitation. So with that, the current height is good for now. I will have to see how it runs on plane in 2+’ waves next.
Overall happy with the speed, maybe on a perfect day with (1) person and less weight you would see 60 mph.

    Man! That is fast!!

I have the same weight except for the talon. When ever I can actually launch a boat here I am going to run my Comp 205 Tiller/115hp SHO where it’s at (second hole) record the numbers. Then I’ll raise it and do the same and post it.

    Thanks for the info.
